SuspenDC is Sunday September 19, 2010; 1:00- 9:00 p.m.at the Crucible, 1816 Half Street SW, Washington DC. Please be on time and check out Things To Remember below (like your ID).
Directions from 295 BW Parkway ( in Red on above map )
Starting Southbound on 295 BW Parkway
- Pass East Capitol St. & Pennsylvania Ave exits and take exit 3B - Howard RD/Downtown.
- Turn Right at light onto Howard Rd.
- Bear right at light onto S. Capitol St.
- Cross over S Cap St bridge - stay in right lane
- Turn Right in front of the Stadium on Potomac Ave. (There is no left turn onto Potomac Ave. from the Bridge.)
- Make a "U" turn and wait for the light to change.
- Cross over S. Cap St. staying on Potomac Ave.
- Turn Left onto Half St South West.
- The Crucible is two blocks down on the left.
Starting Northbound on 295 BW Parkway
- Take South Capitol Street exit
- Cross over S Cap St bridge - stay in right lane
- Turn Right in front of the Stadium on Potomac Ave. (There is no left turn onto Potomac Ave. from the Bridge.)
- Make a "U" turn and wait for the light to change.
- Cross over S. Cap St. staying on Potomac Ave.
- Turn Left onto Half St South West.
- The Crucible is two blocks down on the left.
Directions From 395 in Virginia ( in Blue on above map )
Starting Eastbound on 295/395,
- Bear right on Southeast Freeway and take South Capitol St. exit.
- Traveling South on South Capitol, turn right onto Potomac Ave.
- Turn Left onto Half St. SW.
- The Crucible is two blocks down on the left.
Directions From Northwest DC/MD ( in Green on above map )
Starting from Georgia Ave NW
- Head south on Georgia Ave NW toward Florida Ave NW - go 384 ft
- Continue onto 7th St NW - go 2.6 mi
- Turn left at Maine Ave SW - go 0.1 mi
- Continue onto M St SW (Maine bears slightly right and becomes M) - go 0.6 mi
- Turn right at Half St SW - go 0.6 mi
- The Crucible is on the left.
Directions from the Northeast DC/MD ( in Purple on above map )
Starting from 4th St NE
- Head southwest on 4th St NE toward Neal Pl NE - go 1.2 mi
- Slight left to stay on 4th St NE - go 0.2 mi
- Turn left at the 1st cross street onto E Capitol St SE - go 0.3 mi
- Turn right at 8th St SE - go 0.9 mi
- Turn right at M St SE - go 0.8 mi
- Turn left to merge onto S Capitol St SE - go 0.4 mi
- Turn right at Potomac Ave SE - go 0.1 mi
- Take the 1st left onto Half St SW - go 0.2 mi
- The Crucible is on the left.
Things to Remember
- Valid, government-issued ID - no ID, no entry
- Cash, if paying at door
- Receipt/confirmation of payment, if paid online
- Directions to the event
- Pen, to fill out event release
- Covered Dish/Food item to pass/share for Potluck
- Personal snack/food item(s) to make sure you don't have an energy crash, especially if getting hooked - a carb for energy and a protein for grounding suggested
- A Supportive friend, especially if first time getting hooked/suspended
- Camera for personal pics
- Drum or noisemaker to take part in our drum circle
All participants must have a valid I.D., be at least 18, and sign a liability waiver to get in.
Online Registration will be open until 11:59pm, September 16 . After that, you will have to pay cash at the door.

What is SuspenDC?
SuspenDC is the Washington DC area's premiere flesh hook suspension event - offering the opportunity to suspend or participate in energy pulls. SuspenDC offers anyone brave enough to try the chance to fly on hooks set into their own skin. Folks not ready to fly can still play with hooks and sensation by participating in an energy pull, alone or with friends. Supporters and spectators are welcome and encouraged.
Come out to test your limits or support your friends as they push beyond their own fears. Meet up with old friends and make some new ones as we all come together to support and inspire each other to challenge what we imagine are our limits. If nothing else, spend a fun afternoon drumming with us.
Sodas and water are available from the club’s bar. Food will not be provided. We are inviting everyone to participate in a covered dish pot luck. We have plates, etc. and serving utensils at the club.
There will be live drumming for most of the event. All are welcome to participate in our drumming circle. Bring a drum and play with us! If you don't have a drum, there will also be some drums and noisemakers available for all to use.
