Registration Guidelines
You must be at least 18 years of age to attend SuspenDC.
In order to register you must provide us with your legal name, a physical home address, phone number and email. Please use an email address that you check often, as we will be sending you information about the event through email. At the time of check-in, you will be required to produce a valid government issued photo ID that matches the name under which you have registered.
One registration per person, please. Gift registrations become the property and responsibility of the registrant in whose name it is purchased. (The same way that airline tickets work). If you are uncomfortable with this policy, we strongly suggest that each individual purchase their own registration.
Place holder registrations will be deleted. You must know the full name and contact information for anyone who is being registered.
Payments
Payments will be accepted online only via credit card and ECheck, using Paypal. Payment by check must be received by the organizers of SuspenDC no later than March 19th.
Payments at the door the day of the event will be accepted in cash only.
Privacy Policy
Any and all information provided within this system will be kept confidential.
At no time will any personal information be disseminated to any third party for any reason. We will not sell, share or trade your name, email or mailing address with any other individual, organization or companies.
Cancellation Policy
The last day to cancel and receive a refund from each SuspenDC is typically 3 days before the event. NO refunds will be granted after that time. All cancellations and refunds are subject to a $5 per person handling fee. The following procedure must be completed in order to cancel registration and obtain a refund:.
- A written request for refund must be sent to whittney@suspendc.com three days in advance of the event.
- Your legal registered name must be present on your request.
- A confirmation email will be sent upon our receipt of the cancellation request.
- If registration fees were paid with credit card, refunds will only be issued to the card used in the original transaction. If payment was not made by credit card, Kindlers of the Sacred Rhythm will issue a check in the name of the registrant requesting the refund and send it to the contact address indicated in the registration.
If you have any questions regarding this or any other registration policy, please email us with the phrase "SuspenDC Cancellation Policy" in the subject line.
Liability Waiver
All participants will be asked to sign a Liability Agreement and Waiver before entering the event - (view example from previous event). Please take a moment and review the document online to help us speed up the on-site registration process.
Registration Opening in Summer
Registration is not yet open for the September 20, 2009 SuspenDC. We plan to open registration in early summer.
We had a pretty solid online pre-registration in March, so we want to give people plenty of chance to register early. Please check back in June.
If you want to psych yourself up for September, you can think about the types of suspensions you have to choose from and follow links to more details and examples:
- Energy Pull - Hooks are set in your skin and attached to ropes so you can tug against the hooks. Any number of hooks can be used, but 2 is good if you're new to this.
- Vertical Suspension - Hooks are placed across your back, chest and sometimes arms - attached to rigging to lift you off the ground in a relatively vertical postition. Minimum of 4 hooks unless you ask us for specialty hooks/pricing.
- Horizontal Suspension - Hooks are placed down the length of your body, attached to rigging so you can fly in a horizontal position, Minimum of 8 hooks.
- Spectator/Supporter - You can eat, use the space, drum and watch (or lend moral support) as your friends get hooked.
Photography Policy
We
have 3-4 skilled, designated photographers and a professional videographer
with professional equipment taking general shots of those who agree to be photographed
at the event.
Those wishing to be photographed will be asked to sign a waiver and given a bracelet/marker to wear indicating their preference. Those not wishing to be photographed will receive an obviously different marker to wear during the event. Photographers will be instructed to do their best to keep anyone with a no-photograph marker out of their shots. Any no-photograph person who is accidentally captured in a shot will either be blotted out or removed from the shot by electronic means or the shot will be discarded.
Those who agree to be photographed will get the chance to receive copies of their photos, light-corrected and color-balanced. This is free of charge. If you want special shots or prints the day of the event, some of the photographers may be able to offer that for a fee. Ask. That's completely between you and the photographer.
Before entering the event, everyone will be asked to have their photo taken with their ID so our photo-editors can have a visual record to match up names and faces of who's "cool" and also know who needs to be removed from any stray shots. Don't worry, we won't put your driver's license mug-shot on the web site, unless you really want us to.
Please work with us on this. If you don't want to be photographed...
- don't stand in the middle of an obvious shoot
- don't wear white or fluorescent colors.
- keep your bracelet/marker on and visible during the event.
Photographs are only to be taken by the designated photographers. Please leave your camera, camera-phone, or whatever at home and leave the shooting to us. Please do your best to respect this policy. Thanks.
